Three China-based initiatives have received grants from the Coca-Cola Foundation in recent months.

The Coca-Cola Foundation awarded USD36 million in grants to 105 community organizations during the first quarter of 2013. The grants support the foundation’s global priority areas and the company’s three-part sustainability approach, focused on enhancing people’s well-being, building strong communities and protecting the environment.

In China, the Beijing Normal University Education Foundation received USD400,000 for a program titled “Balanced Diet – Active Living”. Shenzhen One Foundation Philanthropy Foundation’s Clean Water Project was also given USD557,000.

The United Nations Development Programme’s water projects in China received USD800,000.

The Coca-Cola Foundation says it has awarded more than USD500 million to support global sustainable community initiatives, including water stewardship, community recycling, active healthy living, and education.
